HEALTH SCREENINGS FOR FACE-TO-FACE
Continue to be diligent with your daily health screenings in the mornings and making sure your child has a clean mask every day. This is what we are all agreeing to in order to keep everyone safe.
All students attending in person must be screened prior to school each day. Parents/Guardians will receive either a text message or email at 5:30a on each school day as a reminder to complete the very simple screener when your child awakes. The electronic screening tool can be completed until 8:30a. Unfortunately, we are unable to change the time of the screening period at this point; however, we are hopeful that we will be able to customize this in the near future. The tool is designed to quickly and accurately identify anybody who should not enter our buildings either because they are experiencing symptoms, or have been in contact with a known case of COVID-19. Please contact the school once the office opens if the screener instructs you to do so. It is imperative parents complete the screener for each of their students every school day prior to coming to school. The daily electronic screener does not need to be completed if your child is not coming to school that day. Thank you for your cooperation and support in completing this daily requirement. Please contact the school if you have problems with the screening at 453-6351.
This week we have been working on building relationships and getting to know your child, as well as communicating the expectations of school. We also spent time talking about staying safe and when we need to wear our masks. Next week we will start our standardized testing for Reading and Math on the computer.
**IMPORTANT: all transportation will revert to what is listed in our system on Monday. If you are hoping to make a change from the first week or if your transportation is different on different days you will need to let the teacher, transportation, and the office know of the changes by 2:00pm. (firstname.lastname@example.org, email@example.com, or (616) 453-6351)
In accordance with the Executive Order limiting group sizes as well as social distancing best practices, please keep your child in your car until 8:30am. To ensure safety and social distancing we cannot have students gathering outside of cars at drop-off. Your child will need to have his/her mask on when he/she gets out of the vehicle.
If you are picking up your child, he/she will be brought to your car. Please do not exit your vehicle. We will bring them right to you. Be patient with us the first couple weeks as we get used to the bus and parent pick-up loops. Eventually we will know what cars to look for. No parents should be entering the bus loop off of Nolan.
SNACK & WATER BOTTLE
We will have snack time; please send in a healthy snack for your child to have. Some classrooms are peanut or latex-free due to allergies. Your child's teacher will communicate this. Please send a clean water bottle. Spigots are closed, but filling stations are open.
NEWSLETTER & EMAILS
I will email newsletters out usually on Thursdays. These are very important to read. Sometimes, funny. But mostly, important. :)
QUESTIONS & CONCERNS
Please contact me if you ever have questions or concerns. My cell phone is 616-401-7829. We both want your child to have the best year possible. Texts, calls, or Facebook messenger is the best way to contact me. Feel free to email as well - I try to be in the classrooms as MUCH as possible, so email responses can be delayed up to 24 hours.

ACCURATE CONTACT INFORMATION
Due to our desire to be overly cautious with students' health this year, we anticipate the possibility of requiring students to go home when they are not feeling well. Please be sure our school has updated contact information.
Our regular school day is from 8:35-3:02. The earliest drop-off time is 8:30.
VISITORS & VOLUNTEERS
Due to the current Executive Order as well as the safety/health of our students, visitors and volunteers may not enter the school at this time. For health purposes, we want to reduce the number of people in and out of the school building each day.
We are staggering our dismissal to allow for social distancing. KK (Y5s) and K will dismiss first. At the end of the school day, students will have various exits based on their grade level and exit the building by class. We will have staff on hand to walk with and direct students. Although we hope to build efficiency as we work with this new routine, please be patient as we work through the process.
SOCIAL/EMOTIONAL HEALTH SCREENER
As we continue and expand our efforts to address students' social and emotional needs, this fall the district will begin the use of a mental health/social/emotional screener. This activity is a strongly recommended component of the Governor's Return to School Roadmap. The collected information will help our building teams develop targeted social/emotional lessons as needed. Student-level responses will only be shared with staff and administrators who have an educational interest. The social/emotional health screener is compliant with HIPAA and FERPA, and will include instructions for students to speak to confidentiality and mandated reporting guidelines.
For health reasons, we will not be permitting birthday treats or other items to be distributed to students at this time. Teachers will do their best to recognize students on their special day.
LUNCH & RECESS
Students will eat in their classroom if having cold lunch and hot lunch will be taken in the cafeteria. If social distancing permits, we may move more students to the cafeteria. The first week of school, everyone will eat in the room at this time.
Masks are required to be worn throughout the school day. Our teachers will be working to instruct outside when possible in designated areas and will be finding ways to give children mask breaks with social distancing in place.
Will insurance be offered on devices? YES. If you are interested contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Do we bring back devices on the 1st day of Face to Face or keep them home? Bring them back on the first day of face-to-face.

Our Personal Mastery educational experience has redefined education and has gained attention around the state and nation. Personal Mastery provides your child with personalized attention from teachers. Instead of teaching to a broad group of students without understanding of their individual strengths and weaknesses, Personal Mastery allows teachers to interact with students individually or in small groups to help them better address their weaknesses. In this way, we strive to help your child reach their full potential.PERSONAL MASTERY SPECIAL EDUCATION ENGLISH LEARNERS TECHNOLOGY IN THE CLASSROOM
