Nestled in Alpine Township, Alpine Elementary offers students unending opportunities for growth and development. Kenowa Hills Alpine Elementary provides a great setting for students to enjoy and thrive in. Our school has a great outdoor space for play and an indoor space that was renovated in 2017 and is well cared for to provide a wonderful learning environment. Classrooms and other learning environments are designed for collaboration, engagement, and specialized group and one-on-one work. We want each and every learner to be a leader. Alpine’s “LEADS” is our code of cooperation which encourages students to Be a leader, Engage in learning, Act Safely, Do their best and Show respect.
Personal Mastery is at the heart of all learning environments at Kenowa Hills Public Schools, and Alpine Elementary is no exception. The educators at Alpine Elementary take a whole staff ownership approach to every child. Meeting learners where they are, building upon passions and strengths, and defining areas of needed growth is truly a team effort. We care deeply about the academic, behavioral, and social growth of each and every one of our Alpine Elementary Knights. We understand the importance of fostering a love for learning while tending to the social emotional learning needs of students.
We believe in quality instruction, which includes high expectations, technology-rich environments, and strong instructional frameworks. Learning is made fun and engaging through student collaboration and differentiation of learning techniques based on student needs and learning styles. Families are engaged through a caring and active Parent Teacher Organization.
We offer a variety of opportunities here including reading and math intervention services, social and emotional learning and support structures, extended day programming and Kent School Services Network (KSSN) services for families. KSSN relies on our school coordinator, mental health care clinician and Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) caseworker to ensure students have the supports they need to be ready to learn when they walk through our doors. Our KSSN goals are related to improving student attendance, providing social and emotional supports to help all students be successful, fostering parent participation in schools, impacting the quality of life for families, and supporting a diverse and vibrant community.
