Always A Knight!

Letter from Superintendent Hopkins

Dear Kenowa Hills Families,

I am writing to share an important message with you. After thoughtful reflection, I have informed the Board of Education of my intent to retire as Superintendent of Schools at the conclusion of this school year, effective June 30, 2026.

Serving this district has been the greatest professional honor of my career. Over the past 15 years, I have had the privilege of working alongside exceptional educators, staff members, and community partners, all united by a shared commitment to doing what is best for students. Most importantly, it has been a joy to watch our students learn, grow, and achieve, and to celebrate their many successes with you.

I am deeply grateful for the trust and support families have shown throughout my tenure. Our schools are strongest when we work together, and your partnership has been instrumental in shaping a positive and supportive learning environment for all students.

Please know that this decision was made with great care and with the district’s long-term stability in mind. The Board of Education will begin a thoughtful and deliberate process to identify the district’s next superintendent, and there will be opportunities for stakeholder input along the way. In the meantime, I remain fully committed to ensuring a strong and successful school year and a smooth transition for the district.

Thank you for the opportunity to serve your children and this community. It has been an honor to be part of your lives and to support the important work that happens in our schools each day.

Once a Knight, always a Knight. #KnightPride

With sincere appreciation and gratitude,

Gerald Hopkins
Superintendent

LEARNING

Our Personal Mastery educational experience has redefined education and has gained attention around the state and nation. Personal Mastery provides your child with personalized attention from teachers. Instead of teaching to a broad group of students without an understanding of their individual strengths and weaknesses, Personal Mastery allows teachers to interact with students individually or in small groups to help them better address their weaknesses. In this way, we strive to help your child reach their full potential.
