Hello Families,
This week we held our first Family Council meeting of the school year, and it was wonderful to see both new and familiar faces. Parent partnership is such an important part of success in elementary school, and we are truly grateful for all you do to support student learning and fun. Whether you’re chaperoning field trips, popping popcorn, or helping with fundraisers—you are making a difference at Zinser! If you weren’t able to join us this time, we hope to see you at our October meeting.
Zinser is proud to be a Capturing Kids’ Hearts Showcase School. One way we live this out is through daily morning meetings at every grade level. These meetings give students the opportunity to share good news, connect with one another, and build strong classroom relationships.
Have a great weekend!

At Home Learning Tip
Routines make life easier for children. Establishing an afterschool, bedtime and morning routine will make life easier for everyone. For example…
-After school- come in and empty backpack, get a snack and tell someone one new thing you learned before getting on a screen.
-Bedtime routine- shut down screens at least an hour before bedtime to give brains a chance to calm down and relax. Use this time to read or draw. Lay out clothes for the next day so there’s no rushing around in the morning.
-Morning routine- give kids a simple checklist of what they need to do each morning. Post this on the bathroom mirror or refrigerator so they can check it each day. If they finish the list early they may even have time for a fun activity. This will help transfer ownership to students and make your mornings easier!
Hello Families,
Hello Zinser Families, We’ve wrapped up our second week of school, and it’s been a wonderful start! Students are diving into our new reading curriculum, exploring interesting books, and building their writing and literacy skills at every grade level. Learning is happening all day long, and we are so proud of the effort our students are putting in. Our amazing team of teachers and support staff continues to create engaging and supportive classrooms where students can grow. I had the joy of visiting each classroom to read with students and remind them that we are a community of learners. When we work together and help one another, we can go farther and accomplish great things. Thank you for your partnership in making Zinser a place where students thrive!
Have a great weekend!

At Home Learning Tip - Why Attendance Matters
Every Day Counts! Did you know that just a few missed days of school can add up quickly—and impact your child’s learning and success? In elementary school, each day builds important academic and social skills. Consistent attendance helps students:
-Build good habits for future success
-Stay on track with reading and math
-Feel connected to their teachers and classmates
-Develop confidence and a positive attitude toward school
Help your child build a strong foundation by making school a daily priority. Set consistent routines, avoid scheduling appointments during the school day, and reach out if you need support getting your child to school. Together, we can help every student thrive—every day counts!
Read MoreHello Families,
Communication is key to staying connected. At the end of each week, you can expect an email with a link to our school newsletter. Inside, you’ll find important school updates, district news, and community events.
Thank you for taking the time each week to read it and for reaching out with any questions. We look forward to keeping you informed and connected throughout the year!
We had a wonderful first week of school! Students are already making new connections, settling into routines, and learning procedures that will set them up for success this year. A quick reminder: any changes to your child’s transportation must be called into the office before 3:00 p.m. Please do not rely on email for these changes, as teachers may not have a chance to check their messages before dismissal. We’re so excited to have everyone back and are looking forward to a fantastic school year. As always, please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions.
Have a great weekend!

Personal Mastery provides your child with personalized attention from teachers. Instead of teaching to a broad group of students without an understanding of their individual strengths and weaknesses, Personal Mastery allows teachers to interact with students individually or in small groups to help them better address their weaknesses.
