Happy Friday Zinser Families!

What a beautiful fall week we had this week! It was strange seeing some students in shorts and t-shirts in the middle of November! A year ago we were home with our first snow day!

Our Holiday Giving event is off to a great start! There are only a few more items that are needed for some of our Zinser Families. We are really a community that cares! https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0E4AAFAD29A64-45915575-holiday#/

We are also looking for volunteers to help with Santa's Workshop - sign up here http://https://m.signupgenius.com/#!/showSignUp/10C0D48ABA72EA3F9C43-45736432-santas/1373224

We did some major house cleaning and have some winter coats that we're looking to donate. If anyone is in need please reach out to the office and they will be able to assist.

Mrs. Gerig's class is our Spotlight Class in this week's newsletter. We also have this week's lost and found posted.

We hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving and week off of school!

Santa's Workshop Volunteer Signup
Santa's Workshop is a special day when all the students at Zinser get to participate in some fun holiday activities before break. Stations will be set up for students to engage in games, consume some seasonal treats, and wrap their special present they will have created in art class prior to this event. We need volunteers for each station to help make this special day happen on Monday, December 18. Please consider signing up for a morning, afternoon, or full day shift. You won't want to miss the joy this event brings to our students and staff as we share in the holiday spirit together!

Zinser Spotlight - Mrs. Gerig's First Grade
Mrs. Gerig's class has been talking a lot about what we are grateful for as we get ready for Thanksgiving. One of our favorite things we do in class is have our daily "Morning Meeting". It gives us the opportunity to start our day by talking about different topics and it gives us the opportunity to reflect before we start our day. Our class has learned it is important to listen to one another. We use either R2D2 or Baby Grogu to let us know whose turn it is to speak. (Just in case anyone didn't know...Mrs. Gerig is an avid Star Wars fan!) We spent this week talking about what we are grateful for. So many of us are thankful for our families, the food we have to eat, our homes, our school and so much more! We hope that everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving break and enjoys some special time with their families.

Zinser Spotlight
Mrs. Griffith’s class interacts with Peer-to-Peer buddies throughout the school day. This is an opportunity for students to increase their knowledge of each other and understanding of what makes us all unique. Through Peer-to-Peer, students have natural opportunities across the school day to make connections and build authentic friendships, in all school environments. This includes classroom time, recess, lunch, gym, and more! Peer-to-Peer models acceptance and is a great way for everyone to practice Kids Who Care abilities!

Zinser Spirit Week - November 13-17

Hello Zinser Families,

Can you believe it's November already? We only have two more Fridays until Thanksgiving break and 7 more Fridays until Christmas break!

Picture re-takes will be next Friday, November 10th. If your child needs retakes just have them tell their teacher. We will try to have all retakes due before lunch and recess.

This week's newsletter spotlight class is Mrs. Huhn's Spanish class. We also have our weekly lost & found pictures and Nurse Courtney's November health tips.

**Reminder** Please do not turn left out of our parking lot! Turning right only will help alleviate back-ups and accidents. Thank you for your cooperation!

Don't forget to set your clocks back on Sunday.

¡Hola! Zinser students are kids who CARE about learning about the world around them!
Fifth graders are currently learning about the Spanish-speaking countries of the world, first graders are completing a unit on Mexico and enjoyed learning the Mexican Hat Dance, and many grades enjoyed making their own calaveras for El Día de los Muertos! It is so wonderful to see students each week as we both build a foundation of Spanish vocabulary and learn about other countries. ¡Olé!
